About the Position:
This is an exciting new opportunity in the Managed Services line of business. This person will work on a dedicated team that is focused on large complex customers and will provide technical leadership for projects. This position requires knowledge of CISCO networking, Cisco UCS platform, VBlock. You will work with customers and product management to define new (and enhance existing) features. You will play a leading technical role working with a highly motivated, global team of engineers. You will be expected to champion change and drive the technology vision for the product. You will be required to diagnose complex software, deployment and performance issues and design solutions. You will work with Windows, Linux and Unix platforms.
Responsibilities
Develop and install cost effective, operationally supportable solutions that meet complex customer requirements and SLAs.
Maintain deep technical knowledge of multiple technologies within a customer's environment.
Provide direct operational support of SunGard's largest managed services customers, maintaining ownership and a deep technical knowledge.
Deliver end of the road support for complex environments.
Provide clear technical documentation and written ISO9001 procedures to ensure other members of the SunGard delivery team can assist in monitoring, troubleshooting and changing complex customer environments.
Responsible for direct customer communication, working closely with other central operations technical teams and customer service teams.
Build and maintain relationships with key customer's technical staff members and with internal stakeholders from customer service and field operations.
Provide technical assistance to all SunGard internal/external customers during environment outages.
Have a familiarity environment resources being utilized by SunGard customers. Use this information to assist in resolving environment issues or trouble shooting impairments.
Provide assistance/training and leadership to other engineers.
Perform weekly and monthly maintenance activity when required
Perform after-hours support as needed.
Provide world-class customer support and technical expertise for SunGard customers.
Implement technical solutions for SunGard customers.

Requirements
B.S / B.A. in Computer Engineering preferred but will consider applicants with a CCIE or equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
2-5 years data center experience
A+, MCSE, and/or CCNA certifications preferred
Must have a minimum 3 years of working with EMC VBlock
Strong customer service and communications skills (written and oral) are required
Must have detailed knowledge of RAID, SCSI, SAN, and NAS
Strong time management and organizational skill are required
Must have the ability to effectively work in a team environment, as well as independently
Must know basic IP security structures regarding disk and tape storage
Must have a minimum of 2 years of Systems management and administration with an in-depth understanding of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Solaris, Unix/Linux
Extensive knowledge of data communication concepts and technologies is required
Strong storage problem isolation and resolutions skills require
Must have the ability to lead and direct vendors to assist them in their efforts
Strong interpersonal skills are a requirement
Adaptable and willing to learn new technologize.
TSM or NetBackup server and client engineering-level implementation, configuration and troubleshooting experience a plus
Customer facing skill set
Understands how to work with technical and non-technical leaders in a professional setting
Has experience with documentation and feels comfortable using and working with Visio
Team player and feels comfortable mentoring peers
Can work in a high paced environment and feels comfortable presenting solutions to problems
Has worked in an environment with multiple filers, in production, development and staging arenas
Deals with stressful situations well
Industry recognized certification in storage / backup technology(s) is a plus
