This position is located within the Primary Care Service Line at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Augusta, ME. Duties include but are not limited to:
Reviews and assists in updating VA Maine Healthcare System's Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan;
Assists Emergency Manager and Community Based Outreach Clinic personnel with emergency exercises/drills;
Assists with the preparation of multi-year training plans;
Coordinates and sets up training schedules;
Prepares After Action reports and Performance Improvement plans;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.
REQUIRES: A valid driver's license.

IN ADDITION TO THE DRIVER'S LICENSE AND SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR, THIS POSITION REQUIRES: One (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level of Federal service. Specialized experience may include: knowledge of emergency management, first responders and incident command system training and protocols; designing training and emergency management related exercises; operating remote conferencing and tele-video training technologies; using Microsoft Office programs to create reports, spreadsheets and presentations. To receive credit for these skills, they must be documented in your resume.
NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree or four (4) years of post high school education leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field of study that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position may be substituted for the experience required. One year of full-time academic study is usually 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours. If you are using education to qualify, transcripts are required.
OR
COMBINATION: A combination of specialized experience and post high school education as described that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of the position is fully qualifying at the GS-05 grade level, but only the semester hours in excess of the first 60 semester hours can be used in place of experience. If you qualify by a combination, your experience must be documented in your resume and transcripts are required.
You will be rated on the following Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other characteristics (KSAOs) as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position:
1. Knowledge of emergency management protocols.
2. Ability to coordinate and assist with emergency management training.
3. Knowledge of a variety of computer and web-based programs typically used in training.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of personnel.
5. Ability to perform a variety of clerical duties in a busy office environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work is sedentary. Incumbent sits comfortably to do work and will also walk, stand and bend. He/she will carry light items such as papers and books. Extensive travel to individual clinics throughout the state of Maine is required. Driving an automobile is required. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
