Sr. Engineer, Development Operations

Overview of Job Function:
The Sr. Development Operations Engineer will interface with teams within the SW Backend Engineering, SW Frontend Engineering, Research/Analytics, QA, and Operations organizations to provide the simplest, most reliable infrastructure for developing, testing, building, packaging, releasing, monitoring, and troubleshooting our platform and applications.
Principal Duties and Essential
Responsibilities:
Helps architect and builds infrastructure related to scaling out the solution, operational alarming, and monitoring;
Manages Systems, Policies, and Tools critical to our Development Infrastructure;
Monitors and measures systems for performance, load & capacity planning;
Supports and grows the continuous integration environment
Works with various engineering teams to identify and troubleshoot issues in testing environments;
Helps define Product Delivery and Upgrade strategy;
Contributes to the refinement of build, testing, and release practices across the organization.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical engineering degree required;

years of experience in combination of sw development, release, tools development, and QA automation roles;
Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, and an aptitude for quickly switching between them;
Strong experience with relational databases such as SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc;
Significant experience operating in a Linux shell environment;
Experience working in a virtualized, enterprise level environment;
Familiarity with VM management suites (Cloudstack, cCenter Operations Management, libvert);
Strong experience with continuous integration tool stacks (e.g. Hudson/Jenkins) and development of test automation frameworks;
Familiarity with configuration management (e.g. SALT, Fab, Chef, Puppet);
Strong leadership experience leading technical projects and bridging between sw development and operational teams;
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
Ability to work alone and in groups;
Experience working in mixed Windows and Linux environments;
Can adapt to new, last minute, unplanned and difficult assignments;
Successful completion of Verint background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, and SS verification;
Successful completion of credit check and drug test also required for roles, like this, which require working with sensitive customer PII data.
Familiarity with modern build processes using tools such as Mercurial and Maven;
Preferred Requirements:
Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and parallel projects;
Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks across team boundaries and/or geographically dispersed teams;
Excellent organization, time management, and project leadership skills;
Adheres to strict deliverable deadlines while able to multi-task;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
