The Director of Homeownership will provide leadership to support MaineHousing's first time homeownership programs and activities.
Education and
Experience:
Education and six years of banking, residential lending, mortgage loan production, and mortgage product design experience or a combination of ten years of experience, training, and education in a leadership role, and four years of supervisory experience.
Core Functions:
Establish MaineHousing' First Time Homeownership programs as the products of choice for first time homebuyers o Establish and maintain working relationships with lenders, non-profit organizations, mortgage insurers, and other housing finance agencies, federal, state and local officials to develop and deliver our single-family housing programs statewide o Oversee the execution of loan origination agreements with participating lenders o Monitor and remain current on mortgage lending trends, initiatives, and regulations o Design new single-family programs and refine existing programs to meet market needs o Oversee the development of management reports, systems, and technology to ensure proper program execution and quality control of processes Supervise, coach, and develop staff o Provide guidance to staff in performance of their job responsibilities and resolving problem situations o Conduct regular coaching sessions with staff o Work with staff to develop department and individual goals o Determine and realize training needs of staff Work closely with MaineHousing's Treasurer to manage loan program interest rates, establish loan program income and purchase price limits according to IRS guidelines, and monitor loan and program compliance with IRS regulations and MaineHousing's bond indenture Collaborate with the Planning & Research Department to establish a consistent and positive public image for the First Time Homeownership programs o Develop, implement and manage communication and marketing objectives in line with the strategic and programs goals o Develop, implement and manage internal and external communications designed to increase participation in MaineHousing programs and enhance the image of MaineHousing and its partners Develop homeownership department annual operating and capital budgets Attend state and national conferences, public relations events, state inter-agency meetings, and industry association meetings and conferences relating to MaineHousing's homebuyer programs Other duties s assigned Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to effectively lead and supervise others Demonstrated experience in residential mortgage lending Excellent writing and presentation skills Strong computer skills to include the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) Strong time management and organizational skills Strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong negotiation skills Excellent communication skills, and experience presenting information to a variety of audiences Ability to take initiative, to work independently, and to utilize creative and analytical skills to resolve issues Working Conditions:
Fast paced environment with multiple priorities, interruptions and deadlines.
MaineHousing office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:
00am to 5:
00pm.
