The Director of Workforce Academies position is currently pending classification within the MEA Administrator's Unit.
Responsibilities:
The Maine Community College System (MCCS) is looking for a full-time Director of Workforce Academies (Director).
The Director reports to the Deputy Executive Director for Workforce Training.
The Director of Workforce Academies is responsible for supporting the deliverables of grant initiatives managed by the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine's Workforce (The Center) and Jobs for Maine Graduates (JMG).
Responsibilities include coordinating the implementation and execution of grant funded JMG training academy programs in partnership with our seven Community Colleges; serving as a liaison between MCCS, college partners, and JMG in the delivery of the academy programs; serving as a community liaison connecting JMG Academy participants with local businesses and trade associations; and support JMG learners under the Center's grant activities with navigation, services and supports.
This project plans to serve five hundred students over the two-year grant funding period.
The Director of Workforce Academies position is grant funded through November 2025.
Minimum
Qualifications:
The required minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in business, education, or related field and a minimum of five years of relevant work experience of an administrative nature in business, education, social work, or workforce training.
Master's degree preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The required knowledge, skills, and abilities include, but not limited to, demonstrated project management experience, evidence of membership in professional associations or active community engagement, customer service experience, experience working in a team environment that requires a high level of communication with various stakeholders, and learner advising experience.
In addition, the employee must be able to meet goals while working independently and have the flexibility to work some nights and weekends.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
