Job Description Summary CPS Healthcare is looking to hire professional, dedicated, and caring RN nurses to join our team in providing health care to an inmate population in Augusta, ME.
Correctional nurses are a critical part of the multi-disciplinary team.
They provide medical and mental health treatment and are responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing processes of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities ? Collect data pertinent to health of inmate including lab specimens etc.
? Obtain history, vital sign as and gathers other appropriate data for utilization during physician's sick call.
? Treat inmates with problems according to established policies and procedures and refer other medical problems to the appropriate clinician.
? Use problem-oriented medical records system to chart using the SOAP format.
? Ensure physician's orders are implemented.
? Assist with rounds in the medical housing unit.
? Ensure prescribed medications are administered as ordered, using the formulary, and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
? Apply knowledge of drugs and therapeutics in dispensing medications in a jail setting.
? Maintain security while dispensing medications.
? Implement procedures for patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health providers.
? Prepare regularly scheduled reports and special reports as necessary.
? Participate in team meetings, in-service education, and other required meetings.
? Perform within the normal limits of state practice act, Code of Ethics for Nurses policies and procedures, facility policies and procedures and standards.
Type of position Full-time, part time and per diem positions are available.
Minimum Requirements Education:
Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) nursing program.
License/ Certifications:
LPN License/ Maine BLS Certification (Preferred) CPR Certification (Preferred) Other:
Must pass a facility background clearance.
Experience:
At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
