This is an Onsite position in Augusta, ME with very strong possibility of extension for more than a year.
Position: Product Specialist/ Unix admin
Location: Augusta ME
Duration: 12 months ( with possible extension)
Complete Description:
Unix administrator for Solaris 10 and or Red Hat 5. Resources must have experience with Patching, Solaris zones, securing servers, Performance tuning, CA workload automation (DE), oracle Grid(enterprise manager10g and 11g), ability to decommission servers and possible Microsoft Visio experience.
The Product Specialist may own part of a product, all of one, or several products depending on the nature of the product(s) and their use. The Product Specialist requires significant to expert experience and skills in the product supported. The Product Specialist will usually also have significant experience in the operating environment(s) (e.g., HP/UX, NT, MVS, etc) on which the product is implemented. The product specialist also requires significant knowledge of security and firewall areas. If the product is one that was internally developed, the supporting PS should also have most of the skills of a Programmer. The Product Specialist is responsible for collaborating with Technical Architecture Specialist, System Specialists, Programmers and vendors to ensure and enhance the use of the product and effect migration to new versions of a product.

Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study

oDemonstrate expertise in teaching / conveying technical and / or functional courses / concepts.
oDevelop appropriate work programs / budgets and use to effectively schedule tasks / assignments.
oIdentify improvements to project standards to achieve high quality services / products.
