## Description
This position is responsible for selling standard and customized Global Business Consulting solutions to a portfolio of existing and prospective American Express Global Business Travel clients.
This position requires thought leadership and the application of creative and analytical thinking to best address client needs and expectations throughout the sales process. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to develop solutions across multiple areas, sell to C-level customers, and drive profitability. The Global Business Consulting sales team sells value-added strategic engagements that include Strategic Sourcing of Air, Hotel and Car, Compliance and Demand Management Solutions, as well as custom bundled and out-tasking services. Knowledge of Card/Travel, Meetings Management, and the value propositions of these services is a plus.
The Business Development Manager is measured based on the revenue and profit generated from successful sales activities in their segment.Success will be secured via a combination of direct client sales, partnering with a Business Development Director, as well as supporting and coaching Consulting Directors and Client Management teams who may sell the solutions directly. The successful Business Development Manager will be expected to:
Assess client needs and develop client-specific value proposition and pricing
Present a customized value proposition to client executive-level staff and Procurement, Travel or Treasury Managers
Close profitable sales--successful collaboration within the Global Business Consulting organization, as well as with other key internal American Express Global Business Travel resources, is a critical requirement of this position.
The successful Business Development Manager will establish a reputation as a consultant having deep industry-leading knowledge on helping clients improve their travel and expense management and having the ability to close sales.

## Qualifications
3+ years' global account/client management, sales, consulting, or procurement experience
Proven success in consultative selling, in addition to demonstrated success increasing client revenue and profitability
MBA preferred
Strong negotiation skills, including the ability to handle objections and achieve mutually beneficial solutions
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, understand, and articulate key product and value proposition knowledge in a variety of contexts
Proven innovative problem-solving abilities and decision making skills required, in addition to prioritization, and planning skills
Demonstrated ability to proactively build and maintain a comprehensive network, both internally and externally, in order to successfully navigate through client organizations
A sophisticated range of communication and presentation skills in order to present complex ideas in simple and compelling way to a wide variety of audiences
Strong financial acumen required to leverage the key drivers of profitability
Strong business acumen required to communicate the Amex/Business Travel value proposition
Strong analytical mindset
Advanced software skills (MS Office)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
