Equipment Technician

Location : Augusta, ME


We are seeking an experienced Equipment Engineering Technician to take on the responsibility for uptime and performance
improvements of semiconductor manufacturing equipment for our Etch platforms, primarily metal etch.
The individual will be expected to:
o evaluate and implement creative solutions which improve performance and reduce cost.
o update maintenance procedures and train equipment technicians on shifts to perform PMs per the procedures.
o resolve unplanned equipment issues and update necessary documentation.
o provide support for new equipment introductions into manufacturing.
o increase overall tool availability.
Job Requirements
o 5-day M-F off shift role, hrs flexible with general alignment with a 2nd shift (3:00 - Midnight)
o Improve availability of the Metal Plasma Etch platform by 5% in the first 12 months.
o Reduce variation in availability and improve M-ratio by 50% through improvements in PM procedures.
o Reduce equipment and maintenance costs to industry standards thru reduced consumption.
o Fully cross train technician staffing.
o Develop and implement a migration strategy from reactive to predictive maintenance.
o Engage with process engineering for improvement opportunities through recipe optimization.
o Reduced equipment related scrap by 25%, year on year.
o Improve throughput by reduce speed loss associated to equipment performance.
o Reduce wet clean downtime by 25% to achieve industry expected wet clean times.
o Possess good computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Products.
o Demonstrate electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
o Work with tenacity and flexibility.
o Work with a strong attention to detail and procedures.
o Demonstrate excellent critical thinking and planning skills.
o Ability to create and execute action plans.
o Ability to multi-task effectively.
Required knowledge & experience
o AS degree in Electro-Mechanical technology.
o Demonstrated experience in Plasma Etch & Wet Etch platforms including
o Metal Etch: LAM96, LAM96PTX (primary focus)
o Oxide Etch: LAM45SE, LAM45Alliance, LAM45XL
o Poly/Nitride Etch: LAM94, LAM94DFM, LAM94 DSIE
o Automated TEL immersion wet decks
o Semitool spray solvent tools (SSTs) and spray acid tools (SATs)
o FSI Mercury Spray Acid (FSI-MERCs)
o Demonstrated equipment engineering technician skills with solid experiences is resolving tool related challenges.
o Demonstrated experiences in improving overall maintenance effectiveness including PM success rate, green to green
improvements, and continuous PM improvements.
o Position requires in-depth knowledge of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance techniques.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
