Summary:
Provides leadership and direction in the management of the operations of the natural gas distribution system for a designated service area.
District Manager Role:
The District Manager will oversee the maintenance, operation and construction of the natural gas distribution system
Planning, organizing and providing operational and administrative direction and supervision for all District Services functions and activities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws such as hiring; assigning and directing work; providing training; appraising performance; rewarding and providing corrective action to direct report(s) when needed; resolving employee issues; providing input for budgeting
Manage, plan and coordinate the installation, operations, maintenance and repair of facilities including distribution lines
Ensure the reliable operation of all equipment, whether stationary or mobile
Ensure that all District operations functions meet all applicable laws, regulations and District safety and operation policies
Practice and demonstrate safety procedures
Perform a variety of tasks associated with the operations and maintenance of natural gas facilities including repairs to valves, meters, regulators, gas mains and services and other appurtenances
Directly supervise employees in daily activities (10 direct reports)
Must pass required field evaluations and tests for continuing NG education (DOT Operational Qualifications)
Secondary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Emergency on-call for seven day a week 24 hours a day or provide a qualified substitute
Prepare reports for Directors meetings and attend such meetings as requested
Maintain appropriate inventory of materials needed for maintenance, operations, and special projects
Keep accurate records of any monetary transactions
Assist in developing short and long range plan and budgets
Maintain a clean company vehicle with the highest of standards
Assist and support other districts in the absence of the District Manager
District Manager Background Profile:
HS Diploma Required - College Degree preferred
Completion of all Operations Qualifications Training as well as current in all relevant natural gas training and/or certifications

years' experience in the maintenance and operations of natural gas distribution facilities
2
years' experience in a leadership role such as Technician III (Lead) position within the natural gas distribution industry
3
years of experience performing work normally performed by Technicians
Advanced ability to perform all duties associated with maintaining a natural gas distribution system
Ability to train employees in the operations, maintenance and safety of a natural gas system
Demonstrates professional and ethical behavior
Knowledgeable of federal and state regulations that apply to the gas distribution industry including but not limited to the Department of Transportation/Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills must be exhibited when dealing both internally and externally of the Company
Models leadership by example
Comfortable working within the Microsoft Office suite of computer programs
Strong time management skills required to multi-task numerous assignments
Skilled in the performance of mechanical and electrical work required
Effective interpersonal skills needed to assist customers and effectively represent the Company within the community being serviced
Ability to handle high stress, fast pace and demanding work environment REQUIRED
