The Medical Assistant provides support to the patient care team under supervision, performing those functions and procedures outlined in the departmental patient care guidelines for which competency has been demonstrated and Medical Center policies and procedures permit. Based on departmental requirements Medical Assistants may also provide business/clerical, reception and telephone support to the reception and records area of the practice.
The ideal candidate for this position will have an Associate‚ s degree from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or be certified by one of the following nationally recognized programs; American Association of Medical Assisting (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or the American Medical Technologist (AMT), will have one year or more of experience, be certified for BLS (required within 6 months of hire), have the ability to work independently, be detail orientated with strong organizational skills, have confident and effective oral and written communication skills and be proficient in a suite of Microsoft Office applications.
