Under the direction of the Director of Spiritual Care, the Staff Chaplain functions as a member of an ecumenical departmental team committed to providing meaningful and effective spiritual care to all patients, families, employees and medical staff. The Chaplain promotes a model of interdisciplinary patient care, participates in family-centered patient care planning, and facilitates a professional spiritual assessment process. The Chaplain is dedicated to professionalism, service and excellence, displaying and promoting the respect, care and dignity of all people.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in Interdisciplinary Patient Care by assessing patient and family spiritual care needs; attending patient care meetings and rounds, responding to emergent codes, serving as a supportive liaison between family and medical staff, and documenting patient and family pastoral services provided. Promotes the administrative life of the Spiritual Care Department by attending departmental staff meetings; contributing to the departmental plan of continuous quality improvement; maintaining proper administrative procedures for the department in accordance with institutional policies. Supports personal, professional growth and development by maintaining professional certification standards and ethics, participating in continuing education opportunities and demonstrating a commitment to personal health and spiritual well-being. Participates in Spiritual Care on-call rotation to provide appropriate coverage for weeknights, weekends and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
Ordination and/or ecclesiastical endorsement preferred
One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education preferred EducationBachelor's degree, Theology/Pastoral care preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
