Secretary (OA)

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Independently schedules appointments for the Deputy Nurse Executive (DNE), Health Systems Specialist (HSS) and Nurse Managers (NM); Maintains a calendar of meetings and appointments for the Nursing Administrative office; Advises/notifies individuals when appointments have to be rescheduled; Informs the Nursing Administrative staff of appointments, appointment changes/cancellations, meetings and other commitments; Prepares meeting agendas & related meeting information & requirements; Insures required equipment e.g. audio-visual is available; Develops methods for automating administrative reports; Applies knowledge of the functional capabilities of different software types/products for reporting purposes; Determines data categories for reporting purposes as well as knowledge of how best to utilize software in building reports e.g. Excel; Able to successfully develop reports &/or retrieve data from available reports for data purposes; Serves as alternate Information Technology Liaison (ITL) for Nursing Service; Serves as alternate/back-up for Nursing intranet page; Initiates electronic work orders & assists in maintaining equipment status files; Screens calls and visitors - refers them to appropriate person &/or takes messages, as needed; Prioritizes correspondence; Acts as alternate for the secretary to the Nurse Executive; Transcribes from written material in the form of letters, minutes, reports, memorandums, circulars, and nursing procedures; Acts as alternate timekeeper for Nursing Service; Provides clerical assistance to the PCCs, nurse managers, and others; Serves as alternate Forms and Publications Control Representative; Performs inventory of office supplies/forms & requests additional supplies, as needed; Assists in maintaining Consolidated Memorandum of Receipt (CMR) file a/k/a Electronic Inventory List (EIL); Serves as an alternate Record Management Liaison Representative for Nursing Service; Miscellaneous administrative support and Typing and filing, as needed. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-5 position, you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-4 grade level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-4), in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. OR Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years above high school. OR, Combination:
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education post high school and beyond the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year). One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to six (6) months of specialized experience. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

Physical Requirements:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, such as papers, books, small parts, and driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
