Transportation Assistant

Some of the duties performed are:
The employee accurately determines and/or verifies beneficiary eligibility for a veteran to travel at government expense or reimburse occurred travel expenses; Upon receipt of request for travel, arranges the specific transportation need of the patients adhering to provider specifications of mode of transport and ensuring that mode is correctly denoted according to the patient's medical condition; Ensures that the local or Boston shuttles run daily; Posts the travel daily for each trip such as; Ambulance trips, Wheelchair Vans, Taxi trips and other modes as necessary; Invoice bills, the section regularly receives individual bills from both contract and non-VA contract sources of transportation; Makes recommendations consistent with normal practice using experience in solving problems and handling unusual occurrences; Serves as the Liaison Officer with the representatives of Ambulance companies, Taxi companies, and other agencies both VA and Private Sector to assure patient travel is completed successfully and most efficiently; Cancels and reschedules previously approved arrangements upon request of the veteran; Completes complicated emergency air ambulance transfer arrangements on a moment's notice; Obligates funds and determine the appropriate Fund Control Point for the type of transportation involved; Audits the funds in each Control Point daily, and processes requests for increases or decreases in funds; Composes and types correspondence in reply to inquiries from beneficiaries, Veterans Service Officers and organizations; Performs additional duties as assigned. Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience which equipped them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service. Specific qualifying specialized experience for this position (which should be documented on your resume) is coordinating and prioritizing all customer transportation which includes, maintaining an automated system of program-specific data to track items such as reports, trends, and performance measures; assist customers with internal and external travel reimbursement procedures; experience making sound and logical decisions, identifying and utilizing all appropriate available transportation resources. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
