Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Answering the telephone, referring visitors, or providing information about the office, its functions, and standard operating procedures; Screens calls and personally answers calls when the requested information concerns routine and procedural requirements; Maintains a calendar of meetings and appointments for the staff; Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, and/or arranges conferences; Arranges travel for staff, including scheduling transportation, making reservations and preparing travel vouchers; Serves as official timekeeper for the service and maintain service record cards of all employees; Types recurring and nonrecurring correspondence such as letters, memos, reports, and minutes from written materials using computer software and equipment; Reviews and finalizes documents prepared by others; Prepare meeting agendas and related meeting information; Act as alternate for the Secretary to the Nurse Executive, scheduling appointments; Prepares a variety of recurring reports; Uses Microsoft Excel or other comparable spreadsheet software to develop and change spreadsheets; Performs other related duties as assign. This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-05 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) in Federal Service that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of a Secretary (Office Automation), GS-05. Specialized experience includes:
preparing administrative correspondence, drafting reports, maintains suspense items, coordinating and scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, making travel arrangements, receiving telephone calls, assisting visitors and responds to requests for information. Applicants should possess exceptional interpersonal/communications skill and must have the ability to be an attentive listener. NOTE:

Have successfully completed four (4) years above high school in any field which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university NOTE:

Have an equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total qualification requirements for this grade level. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
