Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions. In this position, you will serve as a FEMA Integration Team Logistics Planner in support of FEMA Region I. Typical assignments include:
Assist with developing, coordinating, implementing, and reviewing plans for response emergency management operations. Coordinating concepts of response operations for individual or public assistance programs within the Region. Writing and reviewing response regulations and guidance documents and interpreting the laws, regulations, and policies applicable to FEMA. Working with stakeholders to accomplish Mission Assignment closeout functions. Processing the financial documentation associated with issuing, tracking, billing, and auditing the region's Mission Assignments. Promotion Potential:
Positions filled under Stafford Act regulations generally do not have documented promotion potential; however, dependent on an employee's ability to perform higher level duties, the continuing need for an employee to perform work associated with a higher level position, and administrative recommendation and approval, promotions may be earned by CORE employees. The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. You qualify for this position at the IC-09 level (starting salary $52,905) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-7) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Maintaining a filing and tracking system to collect, analyze and prepare data and/or reports; Assisting with the development of emergency management plans, policies, or procedures; and, Assisting in preparing situation reports, evaluation documents, Corrective Action reports, and other special reports. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related OR Combination of education and experience ________ You qualify for this position at the IC-11 level (starting salary $64,009) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-9) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders concerning response management initiatives; Evaluating emergency support functions to recommend program improvements; and Participating in the development and writing of plans, status reports, or project papers. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR Combination of education and experience _________ You qualify for this position at the IC-12 level (starting salary $76,721) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-11) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Analyzing and interpreting results of exercises and response operations to formulate recommendations to improve operational procedures or outcomes; Providing input to organizational staff regarding a broad range of issues concerning the application of statutes, regulations, and/or general laws affecting emergency management operations; and, Assisting with the coordination and development of project scopes of work, cost estimates, and estimated completion dates. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
